A lamp inspired by a cluster of trees, a chair facetted like a cut diamond, a fruit bowl reminiscent of the Elizabethan ruffled collar of the 16th century.
These are but a sampling of the quirky designs of Marcel Sigel and Alana Di Giacomo, the Australian duo behind zuii, who made Wallpaper magazine's Best Young Designers of 2004.

With their signature style of recreating everyday conventional items with a twist, zuii presents Royal Selangor customers with specially designed vases, bowls, photoframes, candlestands as well as salt and pepper shakers.
Inspired by rhythm and flow, each piece curves with fluidity only achievable through the malleability of pewter, showcasing subtle movement and angles.
"Pewter is a unique material and we took into consideration the hidden and visible strength of the material in our design process," Sigel said.
"This resulted in a range of home accessories that live outside themselves, that not only serve the function for which they were designed, but also induce curiosity and initiate conversation."
zuii vases are available in three alluring looks: a bright finish that showcases the lustre and sheen of pewter, a dark moody hue, and a frosted finish.
